VTEC technology has been applied to car engines pabirkan Honda since the 90 's. This technology really help performance either from the side of power as well as the efficiency of a given machine to apply this technology. Even today, Honda has developed on the basis of the later termed VTEC with i-VTEC technology.

VTEC is the abbreviation of "Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control" technology which is a regulator valve (valve) developed by Honda and until now is still in use by the Honda ranks who have not embraced the i-VTEC.
It has a VTEC technology excellence that lies in the ability of the small bersilinder engine produces power comparable to the great bersilinder machine. It also gives a good fuel consumption so very friendly when used for either daily or out of town.
Machines that use this technology have two cam profile VTEC which at first profile designs to operate at low RPM and efficient in fuel use while for performance is the second cam profile.

Engines with V-TEC technology is controlled by electronic devices or the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) who decide which profile will be used based on the parameters ofthe machine itself by means of sending a 12 Volt signal and move the locking pin that runs through the rocker arm.
In other words, that with the use of technology V-TEC engine then it can select twodifferent cam profiles based on RPM with the aim to make it more efficient in the use of fuel.
In terms of engine design, eknologi V-TEC utilizes rocker arm as a regulator valve exposure time is divided into three parts namely VTEC-E (Economic), VTEC-SOHC (Single Over Heat the Camshaft), and VTEC-DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft).
